About
Nicci Fletcher is like a stick of rock, with writer printed through to her core. She always knew she wanted to be a writer and started her career earlier than most. By the age of four she was enthralling her family with “The Adventures of PigDog” and “The Nutwerts of Nutwood”. Unfortunately these literary masterpieces have been lost for ever and all that remains are fading memories.
As she grew older she was encouraged to put aside childish dreams and get a ‘proper job’. She bought into the work ‘con’ for many years, eventually working as a business development trainer/mentor for 12+ years. During this time, apart from the occasional foray into poetry, all thoughts of writing were forgotten as she focused on paying the monthly bills.
Her life would have continued along this path if it hadn’t been for major surgery that required a long recuperation. A close, and wise, friend suggested that Nicci used writing as part of her convalenscence. As fate would have it, about this time, Nicci was inspired by her god-daughter to write a child’s poem about the Bottom Biting Bears. The rest, as they say, is history.
In addition to publishing “Bottom Biting Bears and Other Bedtime Beasties” Nicci is also working on a number of other children’s books. “Isadora: Born Under a Fairy Moon” and “Isadora Learns to Fly” are the first two books in a series of stories about a fairy and her life long friendship with a little girl called Nicci: and yes, it is vaguely auto-biographical. During her spare time Nicci is carrying out research fro her first venture into adult fiction.
As well as spending time writing her own books, Nicci also helps other people to fulfil their dream of publication. She has used the experience and knowledge gained as a trainer and mentor to create a unique writing blueprint to help amateur historians write and publish books about their family’s history.
